About the speaker:

Nick Pawliwec has recently retired after 32 years at CIBC and 12 years at the BNP Canada. He has collectively approximately 44 years of experience in Banking, holding various roles in different lines of business from Technology, Finance Controllership, Inspection, Governance & Controls, and finally Internal Audit. He holds an MBA from McGill University in Finance & MIS, a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics & Finance, and a series of professional designations.

He has done various volunteer work on non-profit boards, fundraising, etc. Currently he volunteers as a Finance Committee Member for Newman Center at University of Toronto, CPA Financial Literacy program and on the education events committee for Information Systems Audit & Control Association (ISACA) Toronto Chapter. He was on the committee for the ISACA Annual Summer Conference 7 years in a row. The annual conference on Innovative Technology & Controls hosts more than 200 participants. The 2024 conference had 390 participants (virtual and in person).
