Are you ready to turn your business idea into a launch-ready reality?
Most aspiring Black entrepreneurs get stuck at the exact same wall: How do I know if this idea actually works? Where do I find startup capital? Is my credit even good enough? How do I map out costs when I’ve never run a business before or when my numbers are still a mess?
StartBright is a free, national, interactive two-part workshop from Futurpreneur Canada. No MBA or accounting background required to succesfully launch your business. You don’t need a polish business plan to attend. Whether you’re still shaping your idea, already registered and grinding, or somewhere messy in between, this is built for you.
You must register to both mandatory sessions. Please ensure you can attend both dates:
Day 1: Idea, Identity & Market Awareness
Date: Aug. 4, 2026, 6 – 8 p.m. EST
The Focus: Define your entrepreneurial story. We’ll pressure-test your business concept using our Validation Matrix, map out your ideal customer, and look at concrete, low-cost marketing moves you can make before you launch
Day 2: Costs, Cash Flow & Confidence
Date: Aug.11, 2026, 6 – 8 p.m. EST
The Focus: Build your numbers from absolute zero. We are going to help you figure out your real startup costs, real industry margins, and build a cash flow forecast you actually understand, using a real worked example (not a spreadsheet template you’ll never open again).
By the end of this two-part series, you will start building your personal “Loan Ready” folder, containing:
- A Validation Matrix to clearly articulate your target market, credibility, and unique value proposition
- A Realistic Startup Cost Checklist tailored to your specific industry so you know exactly what it costs to open your doors
- Financial Clarity: A clear understanding of how cash flow projections work
- A Personalized 90-Day Financing Roadmap outlining your exact next steps to prepare for funding
And you’ll learn the 5 C’s every lender — bank, credit union, or Futurpreneur — actually scores you on, including how Futurpreneur’s BDC-backed financing gets you up to $75,000 with no collateral required.
Who This Is For
- Black entrepreneurs aged 18–39, anywhere in Canada
- Exploring an idea, already operating (under 24 months), or sitting on a business plan you’re not confident would survive a lender’s questions
- You want to apply for startup financing and want to know exactly what “ready” looks like
- No perfect numbers required — that’s what these two sessions are for
