Get the legal clarity you need to succeed!

Overview of key legal issues observed among entrepreneurs funded by Futurpreneur, with a focus on contract law fundamentals and the most common contractual challenges.

Are you an entrepreneur or starting a business and unsure about the legal aspects of your venture?

This workshop provides a practical overview of the most common legal challenges faced by Futurpreneur-funded entrepreneurs, based on real cases supported by the Norton Rose Fulbright Entrepreneurship and Innovation Legal Clinic (Faculty of Law, University of Ottawa).

What you will learn:

  • Key fundamentals of contract law
  • The most common legal mistakes entrepreneurs make
  • Contractual risks to anticipate early on
  • Real-life examples and practical insights

In addition to the workshop, the event will also feature a panel discussion with entrepreneurs who have previously benefited from the legal clinic. They will share their experiences, the positive impact the clinic had on their businesses, and why accessing legal support early can be a valuable asset for entrepreneurs.

Objective: help you better understand your legal obligations, avoid common pitfalls, and build a stronger, more secure business foundation.

This workshop is part of an ongoing collaboration between Futurpreneur and the Faculty of Law at the University of Ottawa, aimed at empowering young entrepreneurs with accessible legal knowledge and tools. Through this partnership, Futurpreneur-supported entrepreneurs also have access to exclusive legal clinics offered by the University’s Faculty of Law, providing personalized guidance from law students under the supervision of qualified legal professionals. This initiative bridges the gap between legal expertise and entrepreneurship, helping founders make informed decisions to protect and grow their businesses.

Note: Futurpreneur and the Faculty of Law at the University of Ottawa do not provide personalized legal advice.
