Growing Creative Careers: Windsor & Region is an intensive professional development experience for artists, creatives and cultural workers living in Windsor-Essex area. This program is led by WorkInCulture in partnership with the Small Business & Entrepreneurship Centre and Arts Council Windsor & Region, and funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
The program offers participants a training series that includes workshops, access to online resources and local experts, and facilitated peer mentoring circles. Participants who complete the program will come away with a detailed plan of action to move their careers/businesses/organizations forward.
Program details
WorkInCulture’s Growing Creative Careers: Windsor & Region - Cohort 2: Building Better Boards is aimed at supporting, growing and sustaining healthy boards of directors in our local arts organizations. Arts organization staff (all roles), existing and aspiring board members of arts organizations, and those interested in forming board-governed arts organizations are invited to apply to this free program. Participants will work closely together to address a wide range of topics such as board structures, effective recruiting, roles and responsibilities, and policy and planning; sessions will focus on peer learning and interactive workshops. The training will begin with a public session addressing the importance of having boards that reflect our community and conclude with a public capstone/board recruitment presentation session. Other sessions will be available only by participants accepted into this intensive program.

Applications are now open for Cohort 2: Building Better Boards. An information session will be held on Jan. 11, 2022 and the deadline to apply is Jan. 20, 2022.
